Well, I figure ya'll deserve a bit of an update as to why one of your lovely admins has been away. Aside from finals, I have had a very sick cat named Madge. She is my baby. <3 I've had her for a lovely 10 years, and she just turned 11 two weeks ago. The poor thing has been skinny for several years. She went from 13 ibs to 6 ibs. She looks like a bag of bones. Last summer she was diagnosed with irritable bowl disorder, and placed on a special diet to help her put on weight.
Two and a half weeks ago, she was severely ill, and not her usual self. I had to take her to the emergency vet to get fluids and a shot for vomiting. Then promptly that Monday morning I took her to the vet to get testing. This time she weighed 5.2 ibs. She came back positive for pancreatitis. So she was on antibiotics for a week, and I've been giving her prednisone every night. She seemed to get better for a week. Then the following week I noticed she seemed to be having a bit of trouble jumping up to her food bowl.
Then two days ago, she puked in the late afternoon. Yesterday, she was very lethargic, not eating or drinking. So I took her to the emergency vet (again), which happened to be my vet this week. She was 4.8 ibs and severely dehydrated. Around noon, she puked again. My vet personally called to inform me that she's really weak because of having nothing left in terms of body mass to use. Unless we could put some weight on her and get her to stop vomiting, we might have to consider putting her to sleep. <//3
I went and visited her this afternoon for an hour and got her to eat some chicken she specifically baked for her--that way it's fresh and doesn't have anything bad in it. She stayed on my lap for an hour just purring. The vet came and talked to me for about 15 minutes. He said if she was better tomorrow that I could bring her home, but if she's not, then we'll have to do a few more tests to see what's wrong and if it can be resolved. The good news is that she wants to eat, and is still being nosy at the vet. He says she just watches them with her big, green eyes and even pops her head out of the top of her cage to monitor them, lol.
I haven't heard back from him tonight, which I will take as good news.
But if she does come home, my time is gonna end up being divided since she'll be on some additional medication. She'll have her prednisone, antibiotics, preventative vomiting meds, and a vitamin B-12 shot that I will have to give weekly. My vet will have to show me how to administer the shot. So I have to figure out her pill schedule, and then teach my mom this before I go off to Florida for 10 weeks on May 30th.
I've been incredibly upset over her illness since it is life and death right now. I haven't even been able to study today for my Chemistry exam tomorrow because I've been crying on and off since 1:30 PM today. Then I have my other exams, linear algebra homework, and final paper I have to finish for Friday and before. So I have little time and no muse.
Again, hopefully I can come back soon, but its just hard when your baby is so ill. It's just broken my heart into 1000 little pieces that can't be put back together until she's better.

Scrimp, I couldn't even imagine anything like that. It made me cry just reading it -though at this particular week of the month isn't hard to do- but I love cats, I mean, love love cats. I'd much rather have a cat than a dog. I can empathize with you- my cat got ran over by a dumbass who was driving drunk and deliberately swerved to hit her. But it's very depressing, and I hate that it's you and your cat that's having to go through this mess. If there is anything, anything I can do for you, please PM me or text me and let me know! XOXO <3 <3 <3
PS: Send my love to Madge! Lots of kisses from me to her!

You were there for me when I had to say goodbye to Sassy, and during this stressful time with Madge I want you to know that no matter what the outcome you can come to me and vent or just talk it out. <3 We all understand, our 'pets' truly are our family. She'll be in my prayers.

D8 scrimpyroo </3 I'm so sad to hear she's not doing better, poor sweet girl. Unlike Nanc, I'm so much more a dog person than a cat person, but I don't think I could stand having to put my kitty down! Ugh it's just heart breaking and upsetting when things like this happen. She'll pull through for you! If you need ta vent, you know who to text! <3

Oh, hunny.... I'm so sorry.... I know that words can hardly make someone feel better during a time when a loved one is so ill, but I am truly and deeply sorry to hear that. I send all my prayers and hopes for Madge. :c If you need anyone to just vent too, of course I'm here for you. </3
Take every day you need to do whatever you need. I'm positive all of Aeon completely understands and sends their best of wishes.

Thank ya'll for your support, cat person or not. <3 It really means a lot to have such a lovely family care so much. <3 Words cannot describe how lucky I am to be surrounded by you guys. <3333333 I just want to hug all of you.
As a little update, those prayers seemed to have worked because I brought her home today. She's not out of the woods by any stretch, but at least she was well enough to come home today. Boy, was she excited! Despite being weak and wobbly, she tried to bolt from the car to the garage, lol. Now she's in my room, with her personal litter box, food bowl, water bowl, and little throne (aka the bed and three of my pillows). She just ate a bunch of chicken and some wet food before drinking some chill water. Hopefully, that is a good sign and she can begin to put on some weight. <3
Again, I love you guys. Seriously. <3 I consider myself very blessed to be surrounded by such caring friends. <33333333

Well, I thought you guys deserve another update; though, I know several of you are already aware of the situation. Yesterday, Madge did not do well. She was not acting her usual self, puked, and wanted to hide underneath the bed. She finally came around and just laid on the bed with me and purred softly for about an hour before the vet called me. I packed Madge up and Leon drove us to the vet to meet with the doctor. She enjoyed the car ride, sniffed some bushes, and purred before we headed inside to the vet's office. She laid there and kept purring as I petted her before she passed away with the help of my vet.
She was great, fantastic cat, and the most determined person I ever knew. I have no doubt she wanted to pull through because you could see it in her eyes, but her body failed her first. She's better now where she is, probably sitting up there in heaven on some giant cat perch where her nosy self can monitor every one, lol.
As you can imagine, it's just hard because I don't have her physical presence here. She was/is the type of cat who followed me around and was my constant companion. I feel a bit lost now without that mouthy, little queen to keep me company. I still search the house expecting her to pop out or be laying on her favorite perch to sun herself in the spring heat.
Emotionally, physically, and mentally I'm just drained without my baby, my muse here. Then Leon is also leaving tomorrow for China. So, yeah... Two big losses right in a row.......
I have no aspirations to roleplay right now. The thought of roleplaying out drama is unappealing since I've had more than my fair share these last few weeks with Madge. I'm going to be taking a hiatus from roleplaying. Bailey and Haku can make up some fabulous thing as to why Notus won the gladiator games. For now, we can say Jean-Paul went MIA. We can all assume he's off on some bad-ass illusionist quest. Sunny, well, Bailey has permission to kill her off when she does Notus.
I will remain here to do adminly things. Since I have time, I will hopefully put the finishing touches on the new skin tonight.
To those who have contacted me, thanks for the support. It means a lot. <3 I know my words aren't fancy or anything like that, but truly from the bottom of my heart, I am grateful. I hope ya'll know that. I love you guys.

I'm so sorry for your loss, Shrimpy. The animals in our lives really are family, be it a dog, cat, horse, etc. I'm sure we all understand the need to take some time for yourself, I certainly do. But always remember that I am just a text or IM away if you need more, and I'm sure everyone else feels the same. We love you scrimpy, take all the time that you need, we will miss you though. Remember what you told me, you don't have to see her for Madge to be there. She is with you, and she always will be. They visit us when we miss them, remember? Nothing could have comforted me more than when you told me that about Sassy. Madge is with you, and she knows you miss and love her, and she knows you did everything you could for her. <3

I feel sad for you </3 I know how that goes. Especially when you're so attached, when you were little, they stayed in your room, beneth where you swing out of bed, guarding you, even when you aren't there. The most loyal pets, who never leave you, even if you yell at them every once and awhile. I try not to think about the day my Pixie will die. It truly brings tears to my eyes as I type. Much love. <3

Oh honey, I'm so sorry. I know how it feels to loose a animal companion, especially one so close. I've never been a cat person but I love all animals. And cats that are so attached to their owners are so amazing to me. They are like super cats to me. I know this is a hard time for you and I know I haven't been replying to this but I've been monitoring it. I just want you to know I'm here, just like the rest of your Aeon family. I may be the awkward one in the back debating on how to comfort you but I'm here (:
