CRESCENDO
What the fuck?!
That was the first though in the dapple buckskin mare's head as she hit the rocky ground hard, the force of the crash landing jarring every bone in her flexible, athletic body. Every curse word that she knew was flowing through her mind, but she kept her mouth glued shut, mostly for the sake of not letting the dust in it as it flew about in the air, slowly settling back to the ground. Her forelock was tangled in her lashes and her body caked in dirt, not to mention how ligthheaded she felt. Her head was pounding, especially near the back, and she refused to open her eyes to the sunlight gleaming behind mocha eyelids.
The day was hot- she was pouring sweat, though she didn't know if it was the temperature or her recent adventure. During her fall in a swirling chamber of colors, it had been hot- she had though she was falling into hell, and the pain in her withers and her bones the torture for whatever she had done wrong in her old life. It was excruciating. Her skin had seared off, morphing and molding into something new, followed by muscle and then her bone. Nerves grew and attached to places she had never felt them before, but down she spiraled down, down, down, down...
And then... nothing. Except pain. It was horrible. Her spine felt wrong, like it was broken and twisted, and her withers felt non-existent. Black legs were shaking though no pressure was applied to them, and it was a challenge just to lift her tanned head off the ground and slit her eyes open. Everywhere was a blur, though probably because she was peering from behind closely-knit lashes, and she shook her head, trying to clear it of the light buzz that was slowly piercing her brain. Okay Crest, let's try this out... she thought to herself and braced her strong, long legs against the ground and shoved up, but no luck and she was back on the ground, a dust cloud forming again. "Damn it!" She yelled, her voice cracking and raising pitch as if she hadn't spoken in a while. Would someone hurry up and find her? This was a dream, after all, and someone was supposed to come help...

A b e c o r e ; My blank black eyes stared aimlessly ahead, searching for nothing. I had no interest in where my hooves were leading me to, I just let myself go, knowing I would go find adventure unconsciously, just because it was the nature of one like I. I, the adventurous, exploring one; I am not afraid to take any sorts of risks. Besides, if I fell, I wouldn’t need anyone to pick me up. I am powerful… Now, I wasn’t that much of a fool to believe I was the most powerful throughout the land, but someday I would get up there. I’d had my powers for a few years now, and they had just started developing, one by one. Poison, fire, and illusion; my mystical powers… I took great delight in using them, even against other Equines. I had no mercy, just like all of the others. Some may think I am cruel, but I think I am just more sensible.
As I barely listened to the sound of my own hooves hitting the rocky earth, I suddenly heard a loud bang-y sound. Perking my ears forwards, I quickly teleported to where the direction of the noise had came from. Just as I’d hoped; a new mare had came to Aeon! How brilliant when these newbies frolicked through here, not evening knowing which direction to go in. All though, their pesky questions drove me insane, because they were always the same; “What is this place?” “Why am I here?” “What happened?” “Who are you?” Ah, how I must look like such a freak to them. A normal horse, actually; according to Aeon standards. Shaking my head, I looked closely at the newly transformed female, lying there desperately, on the verge of cussing me out. I saw her quake a bit, struggling. She finally attempted to get up, after what seemed like hours of standing there, with no avail. Her pain was much too great. I had never experienced this pain; I’d always lived on Aeon. By the stories and facial expressions, I could tell it was something I wouldn’t like to go through.
The mare cussed, a short speech. She gave up again, and then seemed to look around, waiting for someone. Curious, I stepped from my hiding place in the shrubbery, taking delicate steps towards her. My, my, my, was this one a beauty! My blackened eyes searched her body, finding musical notes in her dapples, her coat colors changing colors like a brown rainbow. A dappled female, with strange musical notes, and piercing eyes. She seemed a bit feisty too, just by observing her a little bit. I quickly stepped forward, pressing my velvet nose against her fur, feeling a weird sort of compassion to help her. Ugh, sometimes I really disgusted myself. With I grunt, I pushed her, attempting to help her up. In between shoves, I tried speaking.
“My… Name… Is… Abecore… Welcome… To… Aeon. I... noticed... you... needed... a... bit of.... help.”

CRESCENDO
You waited patiently, peering about at the scene around you expectantly, eyebrows raised in controlled anger. Where was everyone? There had to be at least one person around that hard your fall. And if not your fall, then your yelling. Those pretty caramel-colored eyes were hidden behind slitted lids, anger seeping through your pain-masked facade.
Suddenly, you heard a noise coming from the bushes and your head snapped in the general direction, and your eyes saw one of the most interesting creatures you'd yet to see. He was red, so very red, with an oddly shaped tail, spiked mane, and sharp black markings on his body. Your eyes shone in curiosity at his wings and extra limbs, and you could hardly speak and she walk towards you. Without invitation, he began prodding and poking, urging you up again. You shook your head and pushed his nose away with yours, not unkindly, and peered up into a pure coal-colored eyes.
"Thanks for the help, but can you give me a minute?" You asked, voice coming off a tad bit sassy than you'd wanted, but still you never took it back and began shuffling your hooves back under your body and shoved from the ground, feeling like a newborn foal again. Though you weren't embarrassed in the least, you still felt awkward under his unemotional stare. You stole a glance at the stallion, still in awe of his... well, everything, and when you were finally stable you turned to look him dead in the face, a peppy grin enhancing your porcelain features.
"Hello, Abecore. Thanks for the help, I was waiting on that." Your lyrics were smooth and slightly deep, a pure alto sound. You peered around at the flora of the world surrounding you, and back at the ray-beam of rainbow colors shooting up from the dead center. A humph came from deep in your throat, and you blinked, turned back to Abecore, and cocked your head, completely interested.
"So, Aeon, huh? I guess it'll do..." Once more, your pretty brown eyes peered all around, soaking up the atmosphere and feel of the new place. It was energetic and warm and seemed to have a happy atmosphere. You felt like you'd want to stay for a while before waking yourself up.

A b e c o r e ; Her graceful little neck snapped towards me, her melting caramel eyes locked on me intently, I thought the little Fae was going to break her neck, twisting like that. Regardless, I felt a strong need to help this female, even if my bland, sinister, coal-black eyes gave nothing of my emotions away. I had learned to mask them from others, mainly my past band of herd, who’d taught me self-control. At least, for the most part they did. Of course I normally let my emotions show, but through my eyes. The key to my heart; my glorious eyes. I’d been told when I was angry or very excited, they swirled like flames. When I was happy, neutral, or any other emotion, they were a lifeless black. Quite handy trickery, these orbits were. Although I was civilized now, by myself, I was quite the young, wild, and free spirit. I curiously wondered if this female was anything like me. I suspected not, but you never know with the new ones…
She pushed my nose softly away; so I backed up with extravagance, not wanting to frighten her. Of all Aeonian inhabitants, newbies were not fun to contend with. They were far too easy to destroy, they were in pain, and gave up so quickly. Might as well help them, get them on their feet, and try not to hurt them too much. She started speaking, and I snapped my attention back to the musical-noted mare. She wanted a minute then? Hadn’t she been lying there for over a minute? I’d sure as heck been standing there for more than a minute. Slightly impatient now, I watched her get up, and come looking at me with an almost mischievous smile upon her delicate features. I was almost tempted to laugh, but I knew that would do me no good. I needed friends, being uncivilized and crude wasn’t the way to go about it either.
She thanked me pleasantly, and then turned to look at the Rift, the sort of ‘tunnel’ (for lack of better term) that she’d come through. I shifted my hooves a bit uneasily, glancing quickly at the ground.
“No need ta’ thank me. I’m sure I’ll do something to hurt your feelings, so if I do, forget I said or did it, and just rememba’ how I helped you.” Her strong alto carried on, and I knew she’d obviously been listening to my stammering. She looked around a bit more, almost like she was in a dream or a trance. I snickered a bit to myself. Why not conjure up a little trick to her ‘dream,’ eh? I held back a mischievous smile, concentrating, and then I opened my mouth very wide, a small burst of electric blue fire came shooting out of my mouth, I quickly re-directed it away from her, just intending a small bit of fright. The short burst stopped, and I turned back towards her. I started chuckling deeply, mainly on the inside, and I awaited her reaction.
“I don’t think ya’ told me ya’ name. If ya’ haven’t noticed yet, ya’ may got some powers. It may take sum time ta’ figure em’ out, but mine are Poison, Fire, and illusion. Ah, and what’s ya’ name darlin’? I don’t think ya’ mentioned it.”

CRESCENDO
His gaze on you was that of a curious nature as he backed away when you'd shoved him off, and once you'd settled into a relaxed posture, you listened to his voice. It wasn't so much alluring as it was interesting, but still you kept up with his words. A small frown settled on your silky mocha lips and you blinked, completely confused. Hurt my feelings? What an odd thing to say. But you didn't dwell on the matter and looked past him and to the background, answering in a slightly distracted tone.
"Hm, yea well, o'course I'll remember how ya helped me. It's not er'day I see someone as colorful as yew." Not once during this message did you look at the stag- you were far too interested at the fauna and flora that inhabited this part of... what was it? Aeon? Lovely name, though not one you'd have though you'd be able to conjure up. You were very impressed with yourself, and small, barely noticeable smug smile settled on your face, turning the perky smile you'd had earlier into something bittersweet. Without warning, fire lept into the air, searing past you and just missing the hairs on your dirtied hide. Shocked, you tensed, but once you realized where the fire was blazing from, you relaxed and enjoyed the show. Because you couldn't die in your own dream, right? A girly smile melted onto your face, and you spoke with a near soprano tone now, voice raised an octave by excitement.
"That was soooooo cool! How did ya do that?" Audits were perked in Abecore's general direction, and when he spoke again, you turned to face him this time.
As he spoke, the smile faded from your face, leaving a dull expression behind, and while you were shocked, you were clearly not frightened. How crazy were you? How did all of this come to surface? .... What the hell? But yet you gave the red and black stag your full attention and waited for his pause.
"Powers? What kind of powers? That'd be so cool. I wunder if mine is like, speed er strength er fire er wind er weather er...." You kept listing elemental powers absentmindedly, awestruck at the weight of everything happening. It was madness! Though it was an adventure, and oh, how you loved adventure! At his speech, you grew more and more confused, smile fading from your face and leaving a e, your nerves twinged with energy, and you were ready to leap into a break-neck run in any direction, hope and jump logs and skip and kick and act like a filly, but on the outside you remained calm and almost unamused.
The sun bared down on your tan and mocha hide, showing off your muscles underneath the taut pelt that was so cleverly decorated with notes. It was an odd feeling, because the sun actually felt real in this dream... Suddenly you remembered his last question.
"Crescendo. Ma name is Crescendo."
ooc: Sorry for the sudden southern talk, I actually forgot her birthplace, which is Georgia, so of course she's going to speak in a southern accent, haha. Silly me!

A b e c o r e ; Her subtle excitement didn’t fool me. Everyone was always jumping for joy when they learned they had powers. They always ranted about having something amazing, or ‘cool.’ I had power, and frankly, that was all I needed. I figured out that I could breathe toxic particles into the air, and the spikes in my tail and chest were very poisonous. It killed small animals, knocked out medium sized animals, and made larger animals a bit woozy. But the particles breathed through my mouth and nostrils could knock a horse out for a few hours, if you breathed it directly into their face. It was quite hilarious; watching them fall likes rocks to the ground. But miss-aiming or them being too fast wasn’t much fun at all. It was still a great distraction in fights, if that counted for anything. I figured yes, but I could use my illusion powers to do the same thing, so it didn’t really matter anyways.
“Of course. How preposterous of myself… Three tails, horns, spikes, a Mohawk… How could you forget one like I? It simply isn’t done. I do take that as a complement, so thank you. Anyways, you should see my legs when I canter or gallop. Not that I’d need to, my wings allow soaring across the skies, and my illusionist powers allow me to teleport short distances. It’s quite like running, but much faster.”
She seemed dazzled by my fire effect, as it came leaping out towards her. She seemed to relax, and I knew she thought she still must be dreaming… Of course, I knew the real, bittersweet truth she would come to found out for herself. Ha. I certainly wasn’t going to be the one to break the reality check to her. I bless the soul that had to; I found her innocence quite charming, especially her accent. Foreign, that’s for sure. But I didn’t talk like a natural Aeonian horse either, except sometimes, when I was around the horses that did. She started fast-talking in her southern accent, and I listened carefully to the bubbly speech of her almost-soprano voice. “Uhh… I guess I just learned to do it on my own time. I got mad, and boom, fire. After that, poison and illusion came along while I was practicing with my fire.”She gave me her full attention, so I continued after she finished speaking in her bubbly little voice, ”Well, you just have to try. Try anything, really. My whole family thought I had no power, and then when I was battling one day, fire came to me. Almost literally. There are elements, healing, illusion, psionics, and many more you will just have to explore for yourself. I’d say Psionics and elementals are the most useful.” She spoke her name, her delicate, sincerely serene name; Crescendo. I was hypnotized, it rolled upon my tongue, and I repeated it in my head, over and over. I quite liked it, it seemed to fit the musical mare. ”Well then Crescendo, nice to meet you.”

CRESCENDO
You stood tall, attractive body marred by the dirt stains and cracked mud that was dried onto your buckskin pelt and listened to him speak. By the sound of him, he was rather... proud, to say the least, but it didn't matter- at least he wasn't shy and inattentive. You gave him a polite smile as he talked of his legs and how he moved, which you didn't doubt was impressive. At the mention of wings, you perked your mocha audits and turned to inspect your own downy feathers. Stretching them out, you could see how they were adorned with tiny musical notes, unevenly scattered and few in quantity. A pretty sight, but you dared not use them. Not yet, anyways.
"Maybe I got Illusion too! I'd love ta be able ta teleport places! But I don't thank that that's ma pow'r. I don' feel it." You frowned, thinking about what it would be like to run that fast. However, it didn't really appeal to you in the way it should have. "Maybe when I git emotional, my pow'r will come out. But mind ya, I quite like the thought of healin' people. I don' know why, I jus' think that it'd be a useful pow'r to have." A tiny smile came to your darkened lippits, soprano voice soft with imagination. Of course, in dream worlds, everyone had powers. Maybe you were just forcing yourself to think up one for yourself instead of automatically having one. Why? You didn't know- your mind worked in crazy ways.
As he spoke again, you perked your audits forward and gave him a grand smile.
"It's nice to meet you too!"
