Her voice was utterly amazed as the yearling stood at the base of the Rift, staring up at the swirling, pulsating mess. This Rift was exactly the definition of what she felt inside. Overflowing with abundant, incomprehensible amounts of energy. It looked as if any second it would implode and fold in on itself before popping open like a mystical boquet of flowers, spilling, no-- raining wild, indescribable colors all upon Aeon. What a brilliant sight that would be! A giggle fell from the black and gold filly's lips and she closed her glittering eyes, spinning in a sorry excuse for a circle, imagining dancing beneath an assaulting onslaught of liquid rainbows. A tuneless music rushed through her head in a disconcerted pattern, violins accompanied by cellos singing melodies of peace and joy. There was no doubt why the filly was so incredibly giddy. She'd found her magic! She lacked the knowledge of what it actually was but at least she had it now! And it was growing stronger and stronger with each passing day. Now she practiced it, worked hard on it. She knew how to form it, how to start it, and she was nearing the discovery of stopping it. It manifested itself in so many different ways, she was having a hard time figuring them all out. She would master it yet.
Finally she filly stilled, cocking her head to the side. She'd heard of Earth so much now. The equines that were spit from the mouth of the Rift all wondered where is was, how they'd gotten here. It was confusing. She didn't know where Earth was. How would she? She wasn't from there, they were! She was from here, born to an Aeonian sire and dam in her homelands of Selisona with her brother by her side for a majority of her life. Her entire life had been here. Not that she had much life to brag about, but you know, whatever. The little over a year she did have had been spent in the comforting familiarity of Aeon and it's dinosaurs. They said Earth didn't have dinosaurs, not like the one's Aeon had. Their dinosaurs were formed of metal and spit smelly, black smoke. They were also fast. Much faster than horses, faster than cheetahs, so much faster than the Aeonian dinosaurs. Neus didn't want to go to Earth. She was happy here in her land of birth.
The elegant filly glanced around herself quietly. There were no Earthian's here today. That's what they were called, right? Eh, good enough for her. Neus always enjoyed being here when a random equine, some normal and some boring grays or blacks or browns suddenly appeared. They always had more questions than even Neus, and if she stuck with it and answered them all, they would likely answer her questions, too. It was a win win situation. But today it was empty, and she was alone. Maybe she should go-- run and leave and find someone else to interrogate. But she could wait a little longer. The sun was high in the sky, and she had all the time she needed. Perhaps waiting would pay off.

DIOMEDES
The entire time that Diomedes had spent in this ridiculously colorful place was dedicated to this equally ridiculously colored prairie of shallows and shining rock. Not that he particularly had plans otherwise, but there was one thing that he had learned about this place. Diomedes was a predator. He needed to hunt. He needed his fill for the day. In this location, there were far to many disoriented equine to pass up. Even some of the natural game of Aeon found themselves pray to the crazed stag as they failed to protect themselves, to caught up in the glow of the Rift. Even now, the stag was chewing at the remains of a Kirin's leg. Its rotted flesh hung from his mouth like a trophy, mangled hanging strips of muscle swaying as he jogged along aimlessly between the clusters of crystals. His teeth were stained with the creature's blood, his lips tasting slightly metallic, even now.
The cloved hoof, much like his own, swung haphazardly, smacking him in the shoulder every now and again as he swung his massive, strangely handsome, head around, his silver eyes scanning the surrounds for what, he did not know. The massive Rift hung ominously to his right, shooting its puked colors into the sky in a never ending cadence. A snort blew from his nares. As he passed a break in the purple-irredescent crystals, an eye catching glitter flashed. Diomedes stopped instantly, standing tall, the spines along his back shaking with the power he had even when halting. A glittering equine was staring up at the rift, dumbfounded, and enthralled. A low growl purred in his throat, and for a few seconds, the brute glanced over his shoulder. They were, seemingly, alone. Not that he cared, but still. That thing was so shiny! It was so pretty! Head snapped back over to her, as if he didn't do it quite fast enough he may lose her. But no, there she stood. Still staring at the Rift.
Diomedes immediately took up a hearty stride towards the mare, not quite a walk but not fast enough to be a trot. His long, whip-like tail lashed about, a physical embodiement of his excitement. It was so glittery! His silver eyes, which were, in their own right, somewhat sparkly like the mare's body, barely blinked as he stared long and hard at the girl. As he approached, he realized she was young, a filly. Oh. Even better. Another purr-like growl vibrated in his throat. Eventually, he was standing but a few yards from here, a low growl in his throat, as his slit eyes fixated on her as if she were some precious deity. The Kirin leg still swung lazily in his mouth, his double row of needle teeth bore into the rotting flesh. It wasn't a fresh kill, in the least. With the leg in his mouth, the growl was slightly muted and gurgled, making it sound even more alien than it should have. And he stood there. Staring at her, ivory spines rising above his back, and a light wind brushing his equally ivory stiff-haired mane.

She'd never actually seen an equine appear out of the swirling mess. Did they just get zapped into existence? Did the spiraling, spinning tornado part like the Red Sea, and allow a single new addition to Aeon passage through it's mystical doorway? She watched closely, eyes narrowed, looking for any obvious change in structure or color. There was none. She'd assumed the Rift would be a little bit more blunt than it actually was. It hummed with a constant flow of electricity, and showed no symptoms of having spewed odd new equines from it's depths. It was all too confusing for the yearling filly, and quite frankly, though intriguing at first, she was quickly growing bored with the energetic twister. Wasn't there anything more interesting to do, rather than standing here staring at this discombobulated, churning, twisting, colorful spire? There had to be something.
And with that, a noise sounded behind her. It was so subtle, Neus could have easily blown it off, easily considering it the wind, or a shift in nearby energy-- something she was shockingly accustomed to, thanks to her unique magic. But being a curious, nosy yearling, she did turn around. Well, good thing she did! What was that!? Neus tilted her head, oddly unphased by his sudden appearance. Her big brother had bomb proofed her in that area, what with his teleportation illusionist powers, the silly thing. Maybe this strange creature was an illusionist as well? Probably not, but Neus always considered every single possibility. She gave Diomedes a scrutinizing look, squinting her golden eyes to peer at him curiously before finally shifting to face him. The mangled limb hanging limply from his jaws was slightly off putting, she had to admit. It made her tender, young skin crawl, but this was Aeon, and Aeon was known for it's.. interesting characters.
His spines raised much like hackles, making Neus briefly wonder if he perhaps felt threatened. Maybe he was scared of her? After all, she was pretty intimidating, if she did say so herself. His gaze was intrusive, amazed. Despite how much she did seem to dislike his starving, lingering looks, she pushed past it. He really shouldn't be frightened of her. She was just a yearling. How did she voice that without making him feel inferior, or giving him a blow to his ego? She would never forgive herself if she tore down the poor thing's pride. A growl, hardly timid, gurgled from deep within his throat. Was he trying to speak? Neus frowned slightly, lowering her elegant head, golden horn pointing toward him. "Do not fear me!" She encouraged with a giggle in her voice. "I'm not scary at all, I promise!" The filly informed him bravely, still gazing over him, noting his blood crusted jaws and needle sharp teeth.
Maybe he had been Rifted, and was lost and confused, overwhelmed by a sudden lust for blood and flesh beneath his teeth. There was no shame in being carnivorous, though Neus could nearly bet it was a frightening situation to be in at the beginning. Hell, he was practically a zombie, but, you know, whatever. She would keep that little tidbit to herself, as she was almost positive that wouldn't be the most encouraging or friendly thing to say. "I'm Neus! Who are you?" She asked with a cheerful, oblivious grin. In her young mind, danger did not exist. Fear was a choice, and she simply chose not to be flustered or frightened at this moment in time. "Do you want to play a game? We can play tag!" She bobbed her pretty Aeonian head happily, attempting to be as warm and welcoming to the new creature as possible. After all, big bad Neus didn't want to scare him off.

DIOMEDES
The stallion remained stock still, staring and watching the glittering, shiny filly as she peered up at the Rift. He only flinched when she turned to look at him, his head raising ever so slightly, sending the Kirin hoof into another sway. It surprised him that she wasn't afraid, or at least didn't show any signs of it. Through her sweet, giggling girl reassurances, Diomedes continued to gurgle-growl and just stare hungrily at her, transfixed with fascination. Still he remained unmoving, until a certain word came into play. Quite literally, play. His harks flicked forward quickly. With a mechanical-like movement, his jaw snapped open and the rotting leg fell to the ground with a dull thud. The tips of his teeth were still stained a saturated red, and saliva dripped from his fangs while he still stared, now his mouth agape.
"Plaaaaaay?" He hissed, his black-blue forked tongue writhing around his mouth without cause. A cloven hoof took a single step forward. "I do like to play, yessss." Lowering his head, Diomedes stared her down as it locking onto her like some machine. His lips rolled up in a growl, and he took another step forward. Behind him, his whip-like tail struck at the ground like a prowling cat, the tuft of white hair at the end a silver streamline through the air. The sun fell upon them in a warm cadence, making the glittering gold of her body shimmer with greater luster. His silver, slit eyes retracted, as if mesmerized, and as his mouth opened further, his powerful haunches launched him forward into a mad man's gallop towards her.

Neus grinned happily, bobbing her young head excitedly. "Yes, play!" She beamed, nodding enthusiastically. He was getting it, now! She hesitantly peered down at the leg which fell rotting from his blood stained lips. Poor thing. He must be so absolutely terrified and confused. Eating meat was just not natural. It couldn't be good! I mean.. not that she;d ever tried it, but the thought was just repulsive. Her expressive black brows tugged together, intrigued by a thought she'd never once considered. Was it really that gross? Who was she to judge and make assumptions? She'd never so much as snuffled a fresh piece of meat. Maybe it could be tasty. Maybe some day she would give it a try. Maybe. She'd have to talk to Jean-Paul before she did that, and make sure he approved. Or maybe she wouldn't. He'd been acting funny lately. He'd probably just get all angry and explosive and go all Nazi horse slayer on her again. She didn't want to go back there.
Her attention flitted back to the creature before her. He hadn't revealed his name to her. OH! How could she be so insensitive? There was very well a chance the poor misguided thing didn't have a name. She could give him one? "Do you have a name?" She asked curiously, already wondering. "If not, you can be Charlie! Or Kevin! Or you could pick. whatever you like best!" The filly suggested hopefully, golden eyes brimming with joy. But he spoke without giving her an answer. "I do like to play, yessss." Oh, yes! Right. Play time. His eyes narrowed on her, and Neus took a slow step back. Did he know the rules? She could teach him if not. But he didn't seem to be questioning himself so perhaps he did truly know how to play. His jaw unhinged further, and Neus lowered her shoulders to the ground, charcoal ears straining forward.
"You're it!" Without a second thought, her new friend seemed to understand and lunged into action. Twirling, Neus bolted in the opposite direction, circling around the Rift, a wistful, adorable giggle escaping her young, shrill vocal chords. She bounded and bucked, surging forward playfully, the ethereal spire sending rainbows shining off of her glittering gold laced physique. This was great! No one ever wanted to play anymore. Wouldn't JP be happy to hear she made a new friend!? And a good one at that! Neus hesitated, flicking an ear and glance over her shoulder back at Diomedes to be sure he was in fact playing correctly. "Catch me if you can!" She laughed, bounding forth with a new burst of energy. She could go all day.

DIOMEDES
Had others believed the stallion mad (because he wasn't mad, oh no he wasn't!), than surely they found this filly daft! Here, this monster stared and growled at her, snapped his teeth hungrily in her direction, and she had the audacity to believe he was afraid of her? Oh, on the contrary! Diomedes furthered his actions, following the irregular swirls and lines of her glittering gold pelt with his eyes, and if he could they would have been rubbing against her sides, physically petting the glorious markings with lust. Oh, how he liked shiny things! He took another step towards her as she giggled and rambled. Charlie? Kevin? Who the hell were they? "Noooo..." He growled, lips rippling. He was not Charlie! He was not Kevin! Those daft fools can leave his treasure alone! An angry growl grew, coals thrown into the fire. "Nooooo, no Kevin and no Charlie." His black tongue flicked around his his agape mouth, sliding between his teeth sickeningly, grabbing whatever rotting leftovers he'd missed from meals before.
The popular exclamation shouted from her pretty mouth, and she darted off, keeping an eye on him - obviously wanting the beast to follow. He stood only a moment, his brain calculating the formulating. Before he realized it, his cranium was thrusting forward, pulling his long, athletic body behind him, his strong legs churning. Divots of sod flew behind him as his cloven hooves sunk into the ground and threw it back mercilessly. The girl was fast, very fast, but so was Diomedes. Chuckles and giggles, contorted with derangement, started to flutter from his muzzle, his teeth snapping hungrily as he chanced after the glittering, shiny toy.
They raced for quiet sometime, both of them seemingly encasing boundless amounts of energy in their small little bodies. Legs flew about manically, sharp turns, and long distance stretches illustrated this canvas, and still Diomedes, despite a slight burning in his muscles for a small break, continued after this filly. He made good pace with her, caught up to her at times, but lost her at others, but never was she too far away that he was uncomfortable and felt lost in his attempts to catch the fleeing rabbit. Eventually, after some tireless running, Diomedes hooves felt... different. They'd raced amongst the crystals, splashing here and there, but now they were galloping among a new footing they hadn't, and there was... something, or someone contacting him through the drum of his hooves as they met the moist sod. He felt something down there... he could sense it. The filly didn't seem jaded in the least, so he assumed she hadn't been keen enough to notice. Oh no, she wasn't that smart. She was crazy, afterall.
He wondered what would happen if he slammed his hooves? Oh, there was no point not doing so. Diomedes could keep up with this family so easily, why not? Why not? Launching from Aeon, the beast thrust himself into a large, long, aerial stride, a combination of a jump and gallop. His cloven hooves came together in point, diving back towards the ground, where they made solid, ground shaking contact. Before the girl, a small skeleton burst from the ground, literally the rising dead. It screeched, as if someone was once again ripping its life force away, tearing its body asunder into chunks for consumption. Diomedes gazed upon it, bewitched only a moment. He'd seen this before! He had! He'd done it before! He did! Oh, he could use this.... Instantly, his silver shot to the filly once more. Perhaps he had startled her? Perhaps this was just the advantage he needed.

She galloped, leaped, bolted, jumped, bounced, and bulleted in coordinated, well timed, precise aerial movements. She slowed one second, allowing her new playmate a chance to catch up before darting forth once more, spinning to the left or right in an attempt to lose him. Once she even let him come as close as to flick her ebony tail at his nose before rocketing off away from him in a fluid movement. Ah, the joys of having a friend again! It had been so long since shed had someone to run and play with! This was awesome! A giddy yelp was emitted as she leaped to and fro, landing carefully on slick, water pooling crystals and dancing not so carefully over solid ground. She kicked and bucked, reared and struck. She tore carelessly around sharp turns and bolted fearlessly around bends and steep drops. Apparently her new friend was just as dauntless as she, because he kept up so frighteningly well. Did he have no self preservation? I mean, she was making some pretty gnarly turns, if she did say so herself. He was so cool! Her rampage continued ceaselessly, boundless amounts of energy propelling her forward without reservations. But then, the ground began to quake. It began to rattle, and shake, so vaguely that the filly began to question her own sanity. Was it an aeonquake? Suddenly, the black and gold sparkling yearling slid to a halt, hooves leaving large ruts of upturned sod in her wake.
Up from the vegetation covered ground rose the most unsightly of creatures. A bone shattering yowl left it's outraged lips. Pieces of rotted and mummified flesh clung uselessly to stark white calcium, skeletal remains creaking and cracking with the lack of cartilage to keep the bones from grinding together painfully. Surely the skeleton felt pain. It sounded like it did. It's screech was heart wrenching, gut clenching, and quite honestly, utterly terrifying. A horrified expression crossed Neus' baby face, and she back pedaled immediately. She sailed backward, a shock and astounded gasp clawing it's way up her throat, no scream gracing her lips just yet. What was that thing!? It.. it was alive? Dead? Living dead? Holy crap! What was she supposed to do? Did it want to eat her? Was it a mummy? Would it curse her? Was it a flesh eating zombie? Or did he suffer from some flesh deteriorating disease and need help? Someone tell her what to do! Help him! The black filly spun on her white socked heels, hooves churning up more sod as she planted them to face Diomedes. She certainly wasn't going to help him.
Launching forward, the filly retreated behind her odd looking new friend, peeking out from around him slowly. "What is that thing? Why's it here? Can you make it go away? Please make it go away!" Neus cried, whites of her eyes flashing as she gave it a cautious snort, a chill shimmering down her spine. "What is it?" She repeated in a trembling voice. "I wish JP was here, he could save us!" The filly stated, immersed in worry. "Maybe he can hear us?!" The idea struck her suddenly, and the Aeonian yearling whirled, shouting at the top of her young lungs. "JP! JP! Help! JP!" She called, over and over, yelping for her big brother to come to her rescue. Where was he? Close, she hoped. They may not have much time!

DIOMEDES
There was barely a window of reaction time once the decaying hare burst from the ground before the filly and she altered her course of direction so dramatically. Cloven ivory hooves rooted themselves into the moist Aeon turf and skittered to a rather abrupt halt as Glittery rushed behind him in fear and shock. Ha! It had worked! It had worked! Head swung back and forth, reaching the maximum angle of parallel with the ground, muffled chuckles and maniacal giggles fighting to erupt from his elongated lips. The spines on his body, primarily his facade and upper pole, glistened in the sun with the action, his body rolling from his left fore to right fore in weight distribution. She sputtered in terror, telling him to make it go away, and if he could do anything about it. Oh! Oh yes he could! Maniacal giggling forced its way through, head shaking in excitement. Oh yes he had brought it here, he could just as easily make it go away! But would he? Of course not!
Cracking, creaking arms breached the ground, grasping at the grasses for purchase to pull the rest of its mangled, decayed body from its unmarked grave. Still, painful shrieks echoed from the hallowed body, bouncing off some of the crystalline arches and creating a sinister and odd echo. Legs popped up and kicked out in excitement, fore-hand half rearing. "Yes! Yes I can! I can I can I can I can I can!" Diomedes managed between a burst of demonic, sinister laughter. "But I WON'T
[/i]"[/color]. The last word had a very sudden change in tone. From the giggly, airy tone of a jester, it had manifested in a terrible, homicidal's forced growl. Diomedes whipped around and faced his friend, maws parting slowly to their full breadth, slivers of saliva trailing from one tooth to another in a spiderweb created by the double row of razors. Another growl rolled deep in his throat as his blue-black, fleshy forked tongue writhed between the still slightly stained ruby saliva and the distorted, chaotic fangs. Names rung from her gem-like lips, and she roared for someone to come help, some JP fellow. Oh, no. No no no no no NO! That could not happen! Diomedes doesn't share his glittery playthings... "How about another?! The same voice, with less boom this time around, proclaimed his next expulsion, and both fores rose in another half rear, and he slammed them down into the turf with as much force his massive amounts of piled muscle could manage. The ground trembled below them, the magic to chaotic to find something immediately. Once again, behind her, another skeleton forced small explosions of dirt and grass from its tomb, tiny legs and arms haphazardly thrown around in a sudden trauma of renewed life and confused petrification. The first hare had managed to crawl from the turf, its flesh an unsightly gray-green, hair clinging to the leftover juices of life in matted balls. It only had one good eye, while the other was but a half lolling around in an empty socket, black and brown from natural destruction. "Time to go, Glittery." Diomedes growled, snapping at the Glittery towards the South. There were many dangerous places there. No one was ever there! No one! This JP wouldn't go there. Nope nope nope! Not at all! Reeling back like a snack, Diomedes lunged at her with one threatening snap of his massive jaw at her forelegs, bulk jumping at her in further intimidation. Go girl go! status: complete! ooc: ...
