THOUGHTS: 52534b SPEECH: 855d91
I was beginning to feel increasingly dissatisfied with the ‘selection’ that my predecessor had chosen for the Loxacin clan. The mares he had chosen were hardly ever around, and on top of it I had yet to see any exhibits of their power. Notus was the only redeemable choice Azazel seemed to have made (aside from myself, of course) to join the clan. Looks like the former chief was not nearly as picky as Loxacin is proclaimed to be. ’That will most certainly change…’ I thought to myself as I scoured the earth below me for any signs of an interesting equine.
After the battle with Grimoire Heart, the petite vixen had earned a whole new level of respect from me, and I grew to accept that she was nothing like the silver queen I knew in my previous life. Yet it was an eye opener to see her powerful capabilities and to realize that my own clan was…lacking. It was rather pathetic to think about actually, and embarrassed me to let the clan dwindle and only consist of whatever Azazel could scrape up. Oh no, I would not allow such a thing to happen. I would extend my offers of a home within Loxacin to those with the utmost potential, magical or non-magical. Though…a power or two would most certainly aid in convincing me to let them join. However if magic was not a possibly, I could be persuaded in other ways, but it would be difficult.
My left wing began to grow tiresome from my flight, now that it was missing a few feathers from the fight with Grimoire, and I began my graceful descent to the earth. Diamond hard, pearly hooves softly dug into the sandy beach. After a few quick stretches, I tucked the massive, black appendages close to my body. I had yet to explore these lands, finally taking the time to see if I could find someone, anyone, worth my time or interest. In the meantime, I began to practice my recently obtained magic. Recently, I had also gone to the Griffon’s and requested their powerful potion, essence of magicka. Since then, I had been ever so slowly learning the skills of Psionics. I could hardly do anything more than move a small pebble at the moment, but it certainly didn’t face me. After all, there was a time with my powers of Foresight where all I could see was a few seconds prior to the current moment…And now I could read as far back as past lives. All I needed was to practice and exercise my magic, of course.
While I wandered across the beach, my gaze fell upon a small seashell that had been swept up by the waves. Stopping in my tracks, my eyes narrowed as I stared at the seashell, putting all my focus and attention into lifting the shell off the beach. It shuddered for a moment, shaking and rustling against the sand before it finally began to rise a few inches off the earth.

Astor "So laugh in your loneliness, child of the wilderness." When once it seemed like things were going so well for Astor, they were quickly torn from him. He was left on his own again, though it was not entirely due to his own predilection to chase others away from him. He had found a fellow “monster”, which understood him and did not bear ill will towards him for his gruff behavior. The other stallion had just accepted him as easily as it was for him to breath, toting Astor along on his adventuring like they had been old friends reunited. The other stallion, an eight legged creature, told him all about the place he lived at – Selisona. Told him about how he was Beta Stallion there, of his sister, of the life he had created for them. Astor could only marvel at how easily he had been accepted by his peers, rather than taunted. How easy it was for the other stallion to live “normally”.
And Astor craved it desperately for the first time in his long, bitterly lonely existence.
But his only link to civilization and to acquiring a normal life had been torn from him, just like everything else in his life. The other stallion just disappeared overnight on their travel back to Selisona, where both stallions were hoping the current Chief would take well to him. Astor woke up on that dewy morning alone, with no traces of where his companion had gone. Astor was angry, of course, but he had expected such a morning to come before he could be introduced to the clan. It never failed that anything good was torn from him, since history had an odd way of repeating itself. Without his companion to ease his way back into civilization, Astor altered his path and wandered Aeon once again, though without much purpose.
Astor had eventually traveled north, to escape the heat. The sheer amount of extra hair upon his body made it hard to function well without constantly trying to cool himself. Granted his magic helped with that endeavor, having icy capabilities, but it could not help him all the time. Using his magic often tired him, for it was still rather weak, thus Astor took to finding other ways to cool himself off. Such as lurking around the northern coastline, where the water was cool and shade was rather plentiful. The stallion let out an icy puff of air, ears lying flat into his lion like mane. The icy puff crystallized the moisture clinging to his mane, though it was only temporarily due to the warmth of the day. Feathered hooves plodded against the sand, carrying him t the cool waters of the coast. Wading in several inches, the water immediately began to cool down his slightly overheated body. With a deep, rumbling hum of satisfaction, Astor’s icy eyes closed with temporary contentment.

THOUGHTS: 52534b SPEECH: 855d91
If there is anything that you have to remember when practicing new skills of magic, it’s that you must remain focused and concentrate. However, my attention span was easily distracted at the sound of another creature approaching. Movement caught my attention out of the corner of my eye, and as I looked up to see what it was, the seashell went flying. Shooting towards the hulking, furry stallion, the seashell soared through the air towards him as he went into the waters. My auds flipped back nervously as I realized I had lost control of it and it was aimed to smack him right upside his crown. Mortified that this brute would think it was purposefully done, I made the short walk of shame towards him with my crown loard slightly with embarrassment and respect.
“I am so sorry, please forgive me for my accidental slip-up. I’m still adjusting to this new magic class.” Quickly I dipped my muzzle apologetically before lifting my gaze up to inspect him now that I was closer. In a matter of seconds I read through some fleeting images of his past, noting that the majority of the memories I saw were rather…isolated. I refrained from being rude and reading too much into his history, but I was quite curious as to why he spent so much time alone. He was a very large brute, a heavy draft mix with more hair than I had ever seen on an equine before. He was down right…fluffy. I imagined it must be like hell for him in this hot, humid environment. “My name is Beautiful Disaster, Chief of Loxacin.” I offered my name, leaving him free to decide to introduce himself or not. Not that I wouldn’t find out anyway. My large wings adjusted slightly, beginning to feel heavy from all of the moisture in the air. I would have to get back to Loxacin soon, let the feathers dry out while attending to business. Truthfully, I would have to recruit more members as soon as possible, which sparked an idea as I awaited the stallion’s response. Perhaps this beastly looking fellow would like to join Loxacin? Of course, I’d want to learn a little bit more about him first, however his appearance and size alone would prove useful to the clan from the start. A soldier, perhaps? Granted, from all the rather lonely memories I had seen, he may simply not enjoy the clan life. After all, may rogues lived alone by choice.

Astor "So laugh in your loneliness, child of the wilderness." This contentment, however, proved to be short lived. Little did the hulking beast know that there was another creature at the beach that day, just some distance away from him. How he had missed her, he’d never figure out, but all he knew was that she had been the source of his brief moment of comfort and solitude being torn from him. One moment, he was almost half-dozing on his hooves in the cool water, emitting a deep rumbling hum, almost as if he was purring out of contentment. The next, something small yet definitively hard hit the side of his head with a distinctive crack, causing a burst of pain to temporarily bloom near his temple. The pain did not last long, but the annoyance over being hit remained.
He turned towards the general direction of the shell’s origins, his lips distorted in a combination of a scowl and a snarl. He couldn’t be entirely too upset, for his mind did wonder if it was accidental or done on purpose. And judging by the demeanor of the mare approaching him, head lowered slightly out of embarrassment, his mind decided it was the former rather than the later. With a quiet harrumph, the hairy stallion decided that perhaps presenting her with a snarl was not the best method to deal with this matter. A beast he might be, but he was more inclined to be civilized with equine of the female persuasion. Only by a significantly slight amount, though. The stallion’s brow furrowed slightly as she apologized and explained, though eventually gave a quick, curt nod of his horned head. “It’s alright,” he spoke, his voice deep, gruff, and thunderous. It matched his appearance quite well, so he thought. If he was impressed or surprised by the mare’s status within the political game of the clans, he kept it well hidden. Or he just didn’t care. It was hard to tell. “It’s...lovely to meet you, despite the circumstances. Call me Astor,” he continued, knowing it was only expected of him to do so. He wasn’t entirely barbaric, but it was certainly clear he had not been around many civilized creatures in a long time. Besides, his mother would roll in her grave to know he had been completely rude to a lady. He knew that announcing his nomadic status would be pointless, for it was quite obvious by his state of disarray he belonged to no one or called a place home.

THOUGHTS: 52534b SPEECH: 855d91
My muscles relaxed noticeably once the brutish stallion introduced himself. It seemed I was forgiven for my accident, yet I was still aware that he could hold some resentment towards me. With a sigh of relief, a smile crossed my lips. “It’s a pleasure to meet you, Astor. Please, allow me to make it up to you somehow. You see, I try my best not to pry, but I have the gift of foresight. I can’t help but see that you are without a clan…” I stepped a little bit closer, the salty water now lapping at my hooves while the feathering floated on top of the waves.
Usually I would not be so straight forward when it came to extending an invitation to my clan, especially when it came to the males of Aeon. But under the circumstances of how desperately I needed to recruit more members, I found it necessary to avoid beating around the bush with Astor. “Loxacin is currently in need of new members, and a stallion of your…stature, would suit Loxacin perfectly.” As much as I didn’t want to make it sound as though he was a ‘big, scary stallion’ that could fit in to scare off intruders or threats…Well, you had to admit that it was a serious advantage. However, I would need to see a little bit more as well. “I’m curious, do you possess any magical capabilities? I would love to see what you could do…” There, not it was more than just his gruff appearance I was seeking for Loxacin.
A genuine smile crossed my lips as I waited for his response, tilting my head slightly to the side as I studied him. Sure, the brute was rather rough along the edges, and had a strange amount of fur…But in a rather, ruggid and brutish way…He was a bit attractive, there was something about him that reminded me of someone. I just could not quite place it.

Astor "So laugh in your loneliness, child of the wilderness." His features remained impassive, despite the relief that flowed off of the smaller mare easily and the smile that broke across her features. He felt awkward, and no doubt it showed. Not many willingly approached him, even if it was to apologize for a wrong they had committed. It was even rarer that they stuck around to keep talking to him. Most avoided him like he was the walking Plague, throwing insults from a safe distance because they knew they could out run him. He had grown used to solitude; he was rather comfortable with his rogue lifestyle, only conversing with others if he absolutely had to and for the least amount of time possible. It seemed this mare, however, was undeterred by his size, appearance, and general uncertain behavior. It only made him feel more uncertain. What kind of creature in their right mind would want to connect themselves to a beast?
When she spoke again, the stallion’s ears, previously standing forward to appear attentive, flew back into his fluffy mane. “Yes...That is correct,” he answered sheepishly, his deep voice rather soft at the admission. It was a strange thing to talk about. He never imagined himself affiliating with any of the clans, for they offered him nothing of substantial use. His blue eyes, perhaps the most striking color upon his earth colored body, eyed her warily. His brow furrowed slightly as he listened politely, not wanting to interrupt until he had all of the information she was providing. He had heard of Loxacin – the name ringing a bell somewhere in the deep recesses of his mind. Somewhere deep within his memories, he could remember his mother mentioning the clan; perhaps it was where his father had heralded from, before it disappeared as quickly as it came. There was a short, rumbling chuckle, though it lacked any warmth of amusement in it. “You are not the first to inquire about my interests, to garner me for a clan. I have dealt with ambitious Chiefs in the past, but they were unable to provide a decent payment,” he replied calmly, shaking his large, horned head. His blue gaze remained trained on her throughout the entire time, thought they narrowed slightly at the mention of magic. “I do, but I mostly use it for my own benefit. One of my nature doesn’t survive in this heat without a little help,” he answered cryptically, his large body mass shifting to move closer to her. Rather than tell her, he figured it would be easier to show her as his white muzzle came within inches of her wavy, kinked mane. Parting his jaws, a heavy mist emitted itself past white teeth, landing upon her black locks. Within seconds, whatever moisture that had been on her mane froze solid, until the heat caused the ice to melt.

THOUGHTS: 52534b SPEECH: 855d91
Auds were pricked forward to catch his every word, listening intently. So, he was a rogue by choice then. That would prove to make things a bit more difficult. Astor must have been approached by the old clans’ chiefs, those prior to all of the current clan leaders. Well, there was a reason that they were no longer here to begin with. Perhaps there was something else I could offer Astor. Before I could come up with something, the hulking stallion was stepping closer to me. Quietly I watched him, standing stock still as his muzzle neared by boa. As a sudden chill on my neck sent a shudder down my spine, I took a sharp intake of breath from the unexpectedness of it. An ice elemental? Very nice, very nice indeed. â€How fascinating…†The muttered words escaped my lips before I choke them back. While a little bit of short-lived frost on a mane was not exactly useful for a mare like myself, I could only imagine the damage he could do if his powers were trained and pushed to his best ability. Whether it be an attack, a defensive block or even somehow used in an emergency, Astor would certainly prove himself to be a useful and worthy member of Loxacin. I absolutely had to have him in my clan. Thinking back to what he said about the other chiefs trying to persuade him, a coy smile spread across my muzzle. “Well my dear, I just bet that I can be a little more…†My tone turned husky with my seductive choice of words, taking the time to circle around the stallion as I spoke. “Enticing.â€
With the wing closest to his body stretching over him, the sides of my barrel brushed against Astor’s, taking not of the interesting feeling of his thick fur coat against my own smooth hide. My tassles flicked against his chest as I flashed another smile at him, stopping in front of him at an angle, with my rear facing him but turned enough so I could look him in the eye. “I can offer you an evening of pleasure, a chance to pass on your bloodline with that of a chief, as well as a welcoming home. However,†My wings unfurled slightly, seductive tone turning serious for only just a moment. “Should you be interested in a little rendezvous with me, I must have your word that you will join Loxacin. Can I trust that you are a stallion of your word? Because there is no fury like mine, when I’ve been scorned…†I tucked my wings close to my barrel, clicking my tail against his chest again. I’d be sure to make his life hell if he thought he could just take advantage of the situation then suddenly ‘change his mind’. “The choice is yours, Astor. But I guarantee you, I will make it worth your while...â€
