Laws of Loxacin
I, Beautiful Disaster, hereby state these laws for all members of Loxacin and peaceful citizens to abide by. Those who go against any of the laws are subject to punishment as seen fit by the Chief dependent on the crime committed. Should the Chief be away, the Beta Stallion will take on the responsibilities of choosing a proper punishment.
- New members will only be accepted and approved by the Chief or the Beta Stallion, keeping in mind that the Chief can overrule the Beta's decision. Anyone seeking admittance into the clan will be put through a trial given by the Chief or Beta. All hopeful members should be able to prove that they are skilled with a magical ability. If you are unable to provide magic, then you must prove yourself useful to the clan through other means. This can include (but not limited to) physical strength, extensive knowledge, ability to gather recruits, bearing children, etc...
Note: If you fail your initial trial into the clan, you may try again or request a different trial only once more. However, this trial will be even more difficult, and the Chief's decision to accept you will be much more difficult to earn. - Any members of Loxacin that manage to recruit new, potential members must keep in mind that the new recruit must first be approved by the Chief. When the recruit meets the Chief, be sure they mention who referred them to the clan, the member may be rewarded...Those looking to join Loxacin should be careful not to trespass too far into the lands, as the Chief views this as a lack of respect.
- There will be no quarreling within Loxacin territory. The only acceptable 'fighting' is for training for times or war, or through official challenges (such as for position of higher power). Any challenges for rankings will be overseen by the Chief. Should any disputes break out within the clan, the Chief will be more than happy to put an end to it. Either of the Betas also have the power to put an end to any fights. Any fights, be it official or training, should not result in death or permanent injury to either party. Such outcomes should purely be focused for times of war.
If you choose to continue fighting despite all of this, the instigator will be banished from Loxacin. - If Loxacin is at peace with another clan, you are expected to treat any members from said clan as such. The same rule applies for any hostility between clans. Do not fraternize with any members from a clan when Loxacin is at war or hostile with said clan.
- You are allowed to mate with who you choose, be it a Loxacin clan member or not. However, it is highly recommended that if you chose a mate from another clan or a rogue, that you do your best to recruit them to Loxacin. If it is found out that your mate is from an enemy clan during times of war, you will see to it that they join, or be banished yourself. While on the subject, forcebreeding is not allowed in this territory. Should a Loxacin mare refuse a Loxacin stallion, that is the end of it. Should the stallion push any further, the Chief will intervene. Loxacin is to always be a safe haven for any and every of it's clan members.
- Foals are precious to Loxacin, you will always be expected to protect a Loxacin foal even if it is not your own. If a mother abandons her foal, the mother will risk banishment. If you are seen harming a foal, or putting yourself first in times of danger (rather than protecting a foal), you will face punishment. Should we ever face a time of great danger or war, mares (aside from the Chief/Betas) and children should be the first seen to safety.
- All members of Loxacin must be present to official clan meetings held by the Chief. If you are not present, you will be seen as no longer an active member to Loxacin and removed from the clan.
- We have a hierarchy for a reason, you must obey those above you in rank. However, if you have a position of power, be sure not to let this get to your head. Respect must be shown to all clans members.
Rewards & Punishments
Occasionally, there will be times where rewards will be given if seen fit by the Chief. Anyone can recommend that someone else receive a reward, and when backed up with a good reason, the Chief may grant such. Rewards are not to be given out frequently, they are only to be given at the Chief's discretion, otherwise they lose their value. Possible rewards are as follows, you will only receive one of the listed!
- Karma
- Higher rank
- Photomanipulation (Obviously, this won't be acknowledged in character)
- Favor
- A 'Forgiveness Pass': If you are caught breaking a law, you could use this forgiveness pass to bypass any punishments. This are extremely rare and only given to those most trusted by the Chief.
- Foal: Now, this is also extremely rare. A foal from the Chief, obviously a reward only given to stallions that have proven themselves above and beyond.
Just as there are times for rewards, there will be times where punishments may be needed. Punishments can be given by the Betas, however the Chief has the right to overrule them or change the punishment. Break a law, and you may face at least one of the following:
- Beating. Although violence is generally avoided, a beating will happen if a severe enough law is broken. For those with flight, this could even mean an attempt to 'clip' your wings, preventing you from flying. While a beating may come directly from the Chief, the Chief can also chose a soldier or someone of rank to do provide the beating as well.
- Banishment.
- 'Grounded' - Banned from leaving Loxacin territory for an amount of time.
- Drop in ranking.
- Death - Only used for the most heinous of crimes.
